Historic Farm Maps

A unique snapshot in time, made to spec

First homesteader names. A yard on every quarter. Old roads as they existed before being straightened. This is what a historic farm map looks like:

And yes - I can create a map this detailed for anywhere in the province! Here's the recipe:

N.A.P.L. Air Photos

Did you know you can get old air photos of all your land? Most of Canada's landmass, not just yard sites, was overflown by the government in the 1950s. Let me stitch it all together for you!

First Homesteader Names

Saskatchewan once hosted hundreds of thousands of hopeful homesteaders. I'll dig up the first land grant names associated with every quarter section.

Cummins Directory Names

Family history buffs might already be familiar with the limits of official "first homesteader" data: many Saskatchewan settlers were tenants, and others bought directly from the C.P.R. or the H.B.C., leaving no trace in the land grant records. I'll fill some of these gaps with 1922 Cummins rural directory maps.

Get started!

All I need to start working on your custom historical farm map is the locations of the quarter-sections that you care about! Pricing starts at $800 plus $100 per quarter-section.

Don't know the exact location of the old family farm? I can help with that too. Just give me a name and a town.

You'll receive 3 printed copies of the final map, rights to reproduce the final digital file, and a USB drive with copies of all the relevant sources I used to make it.

Send your information to my email, and expect an invoice for half of the final cost. Work will begin upon payment!
